Growth to Return to Russia in 2017

Canadian GDP Posts 0.5% Growth

There was a 0.5% rise in the Canadian GDP for the month of July on the trail of the previous 0.6% growth in June and May’s 0.6% decrease, this brings the year on year increase to 1.3%. US PCE Core Inflation Reaches 1.7%

There was a 0.1% growth in the US Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) price index in August after it posted an unchanged figure in July with a year on year rise at 1.0% from the previous value of 0.8%. The core reading which excludes energy and food consumption, which also happens to be the primary focus of the US Fed, reported an increase of 0.2% on the month on the trail of a 0.1% rise in July, on a year on year basis the increase grew from 1.6% to 1.7%.…

US Third Q2 GDP Estimate Revised to 1.4%

Fischer Acknowledges the Connection between Wages and Low Interest Rates

Stanley Fischer, the Federal Reserve Vice Chairman said that low interest rates have helped the US economy raise its labor market gains which are in turn being supported by higher wages.

“With unemployment now below 5 percent we’re beginning to see the fruits of a higher-pressure labor market,” Fischer said Tuesday in response to questions following a speech at Howard University in Washington.…

Bank of Japan Confident in a Japanese Economic Rebound

The Bank of Japan (BOJ) currently believe that inflation will spike towards their 2% target in fiscal-year 2017, but that projection was marked by “considerably uncertainties,” which could require further policy accommodation. In their meeting minutes released today, majority of its members “agreed that, compared with the projections presented in the April 2016 Outlook Report, the projected rate of increase in the CPI for fiscal 2016 was lower, mainly reflecting the appreciation of the yen and the delay in the timing of improvement in the medium- to long-term inflation expectations,” the minutes of the July 28-29 policy meeting showed Tuesday.…
